> “Exceptional Artist and Even Better Person” I had an amazing experience getting tattooed by Randy. Not only is he a dear friend, but he’s also a true professional in every sense. The studio was clean, the process was smooth, and his attention to detail made me feel completely at ease. He really brought my idea to life with precision and creativity it turned out even better than I imagined. His passion for the craft shows in every line. I’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

> Top notch service! This is my third piece from Randy, and definitely not my last. He’s a skilled artist with a great eye. He helped me figure out the perfect placement when I was unsure, and it turned out even better than I imagined. He was also super attentive throughout the session. The healing process has been smooth, and this might be one of my most beautiful tattoos yet. His aftercare instructions were clear and easy to follow. Already looking forward to the next one!

> understood what I was looking for. I let Randy take the reigns on the design and composition and I couldn’t be happier.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does a black & grey tattoo cost?

Artists in this category start at around $200, with the final price depending on size, detail, placement, and the artist's experience level.

### How do I find the best black & grey tattoo artist for me?

Browse the 2 black & grey artists on TattMe, compare portfolios, and read client reviews. Look specifically for artists whose existing work matches the size, color palette, and level of detail you want — a great realism artist isn't automatically a great traditional artist, even within the same studio.

### Where on the body does black & grey work best?

Black & Grey can work almost anywhere, but the right placement depends on the design's complexity. Highly detailed pieces need enough surface area to read clearly — back, thigh, and full sleeves typically work best for intricate work, while simpler designs translate well to forearm, calf, or rib placements. Ask your artist for placement advice before you commit.

### Does black & grey age well over time?

Black & Grey ages best when the underlying technique is sound — clean lines, appropriate ink density, and placement away from high-friction or sun-exposed areas all matter more than the style itself. TattMe artists publish their portfolios with healed work where available, so you can see how their pieces look months or years out.

### Where can I find black & grey tattoo artists near me?

TattMe lists black & grey artists across multiple cities — top markets right now include Addison, Texas. Use the city filter on individual style pages, or browse the full directory by city to see what's available in your area.
